POSITION SUMMARY

The Landscape Construction Foreman manages a small crew of experienced laborers & technicians primarily working on Landscape, irrigation, lighting, & grading. He/she must understand plans and takeoffs and be able to lead his crew to the successful completion of landscape construction projects. He must be knowledgeable of every facet of the construction process, be safety minded, act as a mentor to his crew members, and be in sync with his Project Manager. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand plans, site issues, job set-up, and optimization and use that understanding to guide your crews toward successful job completion?
• Ensure the crew is producing quality work, that they are working as a team, and that they are effective and efficient with their time.
• Review and understand estimate takeoffs and "buy-in" on projects. Make suggestions and discuss takeoff issues and time negotiations prior to task.
• Communicate daily with your Project Manager to efficiently plan-out work load and daily dispatch of crews.
• Empower your subordinates to make their own decisions and to come up with solutions.
• Submit to management the names of deserving subordinates so that they are recognized/awarded/rewarded for their wins, accomplishments, and successes.
• Attend dispatch meeting and actively interact.
• Make your workplaces an enjoyable place to work.
• Make sure prior to project initiation that budgets/takeoffs have been reviewed and tracking goals were relayed to crew. 
• Prioritize and organize workload to reduce wasted time. 
• Drive the schedule to ensure items are completed on time.
• Take full responsibility for your work and the work of your subordinates.
• Seek information for the success of your projects and accept that "no one telling you" is never a valid excuse.
• Be dependable. Promptly respond to your subordinates' needs.
• Possess a sound understanding of your projects, plans, takeoffs, budgets, and how they interact to clearly define each scope of work.
• Be able to shoot, read and understand elevations.
• Understand plan specifications.
• Taking active measures to improve processes and provide positive and constructive critique in order to improve management.
• Should be Bi-lingual
